Burrows to lead Pee Dee Speech & Hearing Center

Dr. Dennis L. Burrows has been appointed executive director of Pee Dee Speech & Hearing Center. Burrows succeeds LuEtta Harris, who remains on staff.
Burrows comes to Florence from Kalamazoo, Mich., where he served as executive director of a large hearing center. He is a published author and has held appointments as a university professor. He is a regular lecturer at professional workshops and most recently served as the vice president for standards and ethics for the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association, a membership organization made up of 130,000 speech-language pathologists and audiologists. He specializes in hearing care for adults and has special training working with those with tinnitus.
The Pee Dee Speech and Hearing Center is a United Way agency and has been serving the community since 1968.
