Myrtle Beach plays host to golf conference

The first Myrtle Beach Golf Conference started Thursday and continues Friday at the Holiday Inn on Hard Rock Parkway in Myrtle Beach and at Coastal Carolina University.  The conference features academic research on the sport and presentations by industry experts.

Event organizers say research will be presented on a variety of subjects, including golf economics, management science and golf, and applications of information technology to golf.
