Sonoco reports 2009 third quarter financial results

Sonoco reported third quarter 2009 earnings Thursday of $.47 per diluted share, compared with $.57 per diluted share reported in the third quarter of 2008. Results in the current year’s quarter were impacted by higher pension expense and lower company-wide volumes, particularly in businesses serving recession-impacted industrial markets, according to a company press release.

Cartee-Berry & Associates wins grand prize in SDS/2 Design Data Solid Steel Competition

Cartee-Berry & Associates announced it has won a grand prize in the commercial category of the 2009 Design Data SDS/2 Solid Steel Competition. The company received the award for its steel detailing work on the Cyber Innovation Center, a state-of-the art research park located in Bossier City, La. Wylie Steel, located in Brentwood, Tenn, is the fabricator on the project.
