Homers carry RedWolves

FLORENCE — Barrett Kleinknecht and Steven Neff each homered and drove in five runs as the Florence RedWolves defeated Wilmington for the second straight night 15-7 on Saturday at American Legion Field.
Florence finishes the first half with a 15-13 record.
The RedWolves scored early and often, putting up 11 runs over the first three innings. Florence finished the game with 17 hits.
Kleinknecht got things going in the first with a two-run homer and Neff added a grand slam in the second inning. Austin Smetana also added three hits and three RBI.
Matthew Jebb (2-2) got the win, going five innings and allowing six runs on six hits.
Adam Schrader (1-4) took the loss.
Florence opens up the second half Tuesday by hosting Fayetteville at 7:30 p.m.
