Robeson County deputies are investigating two bodies found in separate incidents from over the weekend.
According to Major Howard Branch, the body Taylor Justin Odom, 14, was found in his backyard on Saturday afternoon, at 470 Odom Home Place.
Investigators say Odom’s mother told them he went outside to get supplies ready for a trip to the beach. She noticed it took him quite awhile to come back, and she couldn’t find him when she went outside to look.
A short time later, Major Branch said Odom’s half-brother located his body, and the family called 911.
According to Branch, Odom’s body was blistered on his chest and forearms.
Branch says he died from huffing butane gas from cigarette lighters. But the death is ruled “accidental.“

On Sunday, investigators responded to a call about a woman’s body found in a car at a convenience store.
It happened at Chief’s Mini-Mart on 1507 Jacobs Road near Maxton.
Branch identified the woman has Gracie Locklear, 49, of Pembroke.
An autopsy is scheduled for sometime Monday
Branch says this death is being treated as a homicide.
