Residents in the Marlboro County town of Clio gathered Thursday morning to discuss police patrols in the area.

They gathered at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Clio town hall.

Town officials tell News13 that residents were there to discuss the need for 24 hour police patrols in the area.

The small town has limited staff and resources, including police officers.

Residents told town officials that they would like an increased police presence in the area.

Town officials say Thursday’s meeting was just a discussion of possibilites for the area.

A final decision will be made at the town’s council meeting, which will take place at 6 p.m. July 16.
