McLeod Breast Health Center earns accreditation

The McLeod Breast Health Center has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in mammography as the result of a recent survey by the American College of Radiology.

The survey took place after a third digital mammography unit was installed in the McLeod Breast Health Center. In addition to the center’s three units, the digital mammography unit located on the McLeod Mobile Mammography Unit is ACR accredited.

McLeod Breast Imaging Supervisor Beth Kurilla and McLeod Mammography Quality Control Technologist Sheila Lewis, submitted the necessary documentation and clinical images to the ACR for approval. All of the McLeod Breast Health Center digital mammography units have received ACR accreditation.

In addition to the ACR accreditation, the McLeod Breast Health Center was also named a “Certified Mammography Facility” by the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control.
