Investigators searching for clues after a man’s body was found at the corner of Cashua Drive and Second Loop Road in Florence on Monday night, Florence County Sheriff Kenney Boone said.

The Florence County Coroner’s Office hasn’t released the man’s identity.

Florence police initially responded to the scene about 11 p.m. after receiving an anonymous tip about the body, Boone said.  It was found on a overgrown lot on South Cashua Drive directly across from Walgreens.

Authorities aren’t sure how long the body had been there, Boone said.

“He had been there for sometime,” he said.

Deputies began interviewing residents in the Delmae Heights area and found that the man was last seen alive about 11 p.m. Sunday. Investigators are working to see if anyone saw him after then, Boone said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at (843) 665-2121 or Crime Stoppers of the Pee Dee at (843) 667-TIPS (8477) or (866) 369-TIPS (8477). Callers need not reveal their identities.
