A vehicle makes its way through water running from a filled ditch, over the road to a small branch just east of Marion on Saturday morning. Tropical Storm Hannah dumped three to five inches of rain in the City of Marion, which closed some roads in neighborhoods on the east side of town. City sanitation workers began removing tree limbs and cleaning the streets about 7:30 a.m.
Damage in Marion County was minor, if any, following Tropical Storm Hanna’s visit to the state on Friday. Early Saturday morning Marion’s city workers were out picking up debris and monitoring storm run off that had some streets flooded.
At Aynor, high winds were clocked after midnight at 45 mph gusts. Before midnight, the highest gusts were at 29 mph. Florence County, to the west of Marion saw less wind and rain than Horry County to the east.
