Three arrested, charged in reported Conway burglary
CONWAY—Three people have been arrested and charged following the early Thursday morning burglary of a vacant industrial building.
“On June 11, 2009 at approximately 12:30am, Officers with the Horry County Police Department’s Uniform Patrol Division responded to a vacant industrial building at 4701 Adrian Hwy. in the Conway section of Horry County in reference to a Burglary in progress according to a press release from Horry County Police Department.
“Upon their arrival, they learned from the owner that he was checking on the building due to past thefts of copper wire when he observed six people enter the building. The owner fired a pistol into the air, and the suspects ran out of the building and fled the area,“ said Sgt. Robert Kegler with the Horry County Police Department
“The owner got a good look at the suspects prior to them fleeing. Two vehicles were located in the area shortly after the incident, and traffic stops were conducted after Officers noticed traffic violations. The owner was brought to the scene of the traffic stops, where he was able to identify three of the six suspects committing the burglary. The three suspects were then taken into custody. This case is still under investigation, with additional arrests possible,“ Kegler wrote.
Arrested and charged were:
- Daryl Bruce Dubose, 54, of Sumter. He is currently in custody at the J. Rueben Long Detention Center charged with burglary 2nd degree, possession of burglary tools, unlawful carrying of a pistol, failure to provide proof of insurance and muffler violation
- Jason Leonard Dubose, 28, of Sumter. He is currently in custody at the J. Rueben Long Detention Center charged with burglary 2nd degree, possession of burglary tools and unlawful carrying of a pistol
- Thomas David Secor, 27, of, of Sumter. He is currently in custody at the J. Rueben Long Detention Center charged with burglary 2nd degree, possession of burglary tools and unlawful operation of an unsafe vehicle.
