Horry County Council appoints bike-rally committee

Horry County council members held a special workshop Tuesday night to talk about the bike rallies.

Councilman Carl Schwartzkopf told News13 a committee was formed to meet with people he called the “stakeholders” in the bike rally events.

Council chairman Liz Gilland said those people will include bikers, representatives from Harley-Davidson, and bar owners.

Along with Gilland, the committee includes council members Howard Barnard, Harold Worley, Brent Schulz, and Bob Grabowski.

Gilland said they will be negotiating with the group to try and find out what is the best course of action for the county to take when it comes to the large motorcycle themed events that draw thousands of people to the Grand Strand.
