Horry County announces some prinicpal assignments

Horry County Schools names principals for 2009-2010:

• Mark Porter will be the principal at Loris Elementary School. He transfers from the principalship at North Myrtle Beach Elementary School where he has served for the last four years.
• Vicki Underwood, assistant principal at North Myrtle Beach Elementary School, will serve as the school’s interim principal.
• Janice Christy will become the principal at Myrtle Beach Elementary School. She is currently the assistant principal at Burgess Elementary School.
• Dirk Gurley has been named the principal at Loris High School. Gurley comes to Horry County Schools from Thomasville High School in North Carolina where he served as the principal for six years.
