Grand Strand Humane Society announces Cat-A-Palooza
The Grand Strand Humane Society announces Cat-A-Palooza, a special cat adoption day on Saturday, July 18.
This special cat adoption event will be at the shelter on from 11:00am-4:00pm. During Cat-A-Palooza, there will not be a set adoption fee for adopting cats. The shelter is asking individuals for a donation of their choice in place of the set adoption fee.
According to a news release from the GSHS, the shelter received a generous donation from the Rogers Girls and Scooter Earl to cover the cost of spaying and neutering 50 cats. This donation was made in memory of their sister Katie May.
The shelter is overrun with cats and is currently caring for double its capacity.
“We have over 200 cats and kittens in our care and every cage is full,” said Grand Strand Humane Society Executive Director Sandy Brown. “We have kittens in our lobby, hallways and offices. They are all so beautiful and loving, if you’re looking to adopt, please come by the shelter.”
Every individual interested in adopting a cat will be required to go through the normal adoption process and be approved by one of the shelter’s adoption counselors. The main concern for the shelter is finding good, loving homes for the cats and kittens.
The shelter will have close to 60 cats and kittens eligible for adopting with a donation during Cat-A-Palooza. There are felines of all ages, sizes and colors. Cats will be spayed or neutered, have all of their shots and will be ready to go home that day.
Shelter employees will be on hand during Cat-A-Palooza grilling and serving hot dogs to potential adopters so make sure you come early.
