HEMINGWAY - Congratulations to Krista Poston, Williamsburg County Golden Apple Award winner for April 2009.
“Helping children to reach for the stars because the sky is no longer the limit” is exactly what makes Kristen Poston an excellent teacher and role model for her students and colleagues at Hemingway Elementary School. As an early childhood education teacher, Ms. Poston builds a foundation for her students to build upon that will last them throughout their lives. She teaches them through engaging hands-on activities and field trips, one-on-one and small group exercises and nurturing each student to the level of learning so they can succeed. She is not only creative in her lessons but encourages her students to be creative and develops their passion for becoming great readers, writers and thinkers.
Ms. Poston was nominated by a co-worker at HES, and receives an award certificate, a golden apple pin, and a cash prize.
“Ms. Poston is one of the best in Early Childhood Education helping to build a good foundation of young minds academically and socially,“ said Verbiatene Weaver.
