FLORENCE – The Florence-Darlington Technical College Educational Foundation will make a major gifts announcement to kick off its largest fund raising campaign in the college’s history at the 44th Anniversary Celebration and Gala, tonight.

FDTC President Dr. Charles W. Gould calls the Pathways to the Future Campaign “a chance for the college’s business and industry partners to see FDTC’s connection to the region’s successes in economic development first hand.” Gould said, “The 44th Anniversary Celebration and Gala is the perfect venue for the college’s friends to show their
support for our continuing partnerships.”

The gala will be held for the second year in a row at the college’s Southeastern Institute of Manufacturing and Technology’s Convention Center and features world renowned jazz artist Freddy Cole and his quartet. Freddy’s elder brother was Nat King Cole, American music icon. Cole is also the uncle of recording artist Natalie Cole.

The Major Gifts announcement will be at 6:30 p.m. at the president’s reception. The reception begins at 6 p.m. The entertainment begins at 7 p.m. Friday and individual tickets
are $100 each. For more information, please contact E.J. Newby in the FDTC Educational Foundation Office at (843) 661- 8001.
