Bridgers uses creativity to advertise Christmas décor

With the days ticking away during the holiday season, places like Bridgers Dug Store come up with creative ways to showcase holiday décor and a number of gift items to entice shoppers.
Walking into the store on North Main Street customers are greeted by a “rosey cheeked” Santa Clause portrait and fully decorated Christmas trees lighting the floor. Sales clerks and other store workers all lend a hand to prepare for the popular shopping season.
A “conglomeration” is what Ryan McCormick calls the effort.
“We have to really give Kaye Herring a lot of credit, she’s really talented,” McCormick said. Herring, McCormick, Deborah Davis, and co-owner Connie Thompson begin the annual labor of love the week in November.
“We go all out for Christmas,” she said, adding that the decorations and trees sell pretty good, leading the group to start again with another project. The day after Christmas all the ornaments will be on sale.
McCormick said a lot of people give compliments on the miniature Christmas trees that can be seen through the windows of the store.
Valentines Day is the next major gift-giving occasion on the horizon and the store is already making prepa-rations, she said.
During the holidays Bridgers is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and open until 1 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
