Nana’s Homemade Sub
Meatballs
1 1/2 lbs. ground Italian sausage
1 1/2 tablespoons garlic powder
1 tablespoon oregano
Mix together and form into meatballs as small or large as you want
Sauce
1 large jar of your favorite Prego Italian sauce
4 or 5 green bell peppers
1 large sweet onion
1 pack of mozzarella cheese
3 tablespoons olive oil
Cooking instructions
Cook your meatballs till done and set aside. Slice bell peppers and onion, in a large pot or frying pan add olive oil on medium high. After heating olive oil, add all your peppers and onions and sautee until tender, then drain the oil off. Combine your sauce, peppers and onions, simmer for 20 minutes, then add all your meatballs and simmer for another 20 minutes. Take one loaf of Italian bread, and cut in half. Then add your meatballs and sauce to bottom half, top with the mozzarella cheese, then put under the broiler till all your cheese is melted. Then just enjoy.
