A traffic checkpoint in the city limits of Darlington conducted by police officers and Darlington County Sheriff's deputies resulted in nine arrests and several citations.
All told, the traffic check point netted, according to Darlington Police Sgt. Kim Nelson:
- Three who were charged with driving under the influence, including one charged with second-offense driving under the influence
- Two charged with felony drug offenses
- Four charged with simple possession of marijuana
- Four charged with driving on a suspended license
- One charged with driving without a license
- One charged with child endangerment
- Two charged with being minors in possession of alcohol
- One charged with having an open container
- One charged with driving an uninsured vehicle
- Three charged with child restraint violations
- Five charged with driver's license violations
- One charged with a vehicle license violation
