Williamsburg Technical College awarded its own Sharon Riggins McKnight with the 2011-12 Henry and Jackie Poston Scholarship of $1,000.
McKnight is pursuing an associate degree in applied science as an early care and education major.
The scholarship, named after the president of Palmetto Synthetics and his wife, will give McKnight $400 per semester plus $200 for the summer. It may only be used for books and tuition. Preference for the scholarship is given to Williamsburg County residents who have at least a 2.0 grade point average.
Scholarship applicants must have completed the financial aid application process at Williamsburg Technical College.
