Poynor Adult and Community Education will host courses in creative writing and graphic design during the months of February, March and April that will be open to anyone interested.
The courses will be taught on the campus of Poynor which is located at 301 S. Dargan St. The classes will last from 6-8 p.m. and be held once a week.
The six-week creative writing course will be held from Thursday, Feb. 9 to Thursday, March 15 and cover composition strategies, editing and the use of detail in writing. The course will feature both lecture and writing times that will educate participants on the value of their stream of consciousness and writing in timed increments. The creative writing course costs $60.
The graphic design classes will span eight weeks from Thursday, Feb. 16 to Thursday, April 5.The cost for all eight classes is $80.
Participants will be learning how to use Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator as well as image processing techniques. Participants who are interested should have basic computer skills.
