The Florence County chapter of the South Carolina Dental Association and Florence-Darlington Technical College dental students are teaming up again for the 10th Annual Give Kids a Smile free dental care day on Feb. 3.
FDTC dental students assist the volunteer dentists and their staffs provide needed dental care to eligible children between the ages of 6-17.
Last year’s dental day at FDTC’s Health Science Campus in downtown Florence served more than 80 children for assorted dental procedures that included cleanings, fillings, sealants, and extractions.
In all, the volunteers provided $95,000 of donated service.
“This annual clinic day is always a fun, educational event for the community,” Susan Cochran, dental department head, said. The clinic is located on the first floor of the College’s Health Science Campus on the corner of Coit and Cheves Streets in downtown Florence.
The annual Give Kids a Smile day runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
