The Florence County Library System is once again introducing readers to local talent by hosting the second annual Pee Dee Local Author Expo from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Drs. Bruce & Lee Foundation Library in the Joseph Stukes Meeting Room.
This year’s special guest author is Rose Rock, best known for her bestselling Mama Rock’s Rules: Ten Lessons for Raising a Houseful of Successful Children, whereby the child advocate, educator, and mother of 10-plus children (including comedian Chris Rock) shares her heartfelt and no-nonsense advice on parenting. Ms. Rock hosts a popular radio program on parenting in Myrtle Beach and has appeared on such television programs as Saturday Night Live, 60 Minutes, The Early Show, and Oprah.
Sixteen other authors will display a variety of works including short stories, Christian fiction, historical fiction, children’s books, genealogy, and local and world history – with settings ranging from South Carolina to Maine to post-World War II France. The books will be available for sale, and authors will be on hand and to sign their works and answer questions.
