Arrest warrants have been issued for a third suspect wanted in connection with a recent armed robbery near Effingham.
Investigators say Tabias Lorland McFadden of 116 Woods Drive, Olanta, and 25-year-old Joseph Antione Simmons of 11165 Douglas Swamp Road, Olanta, robbed the owner of a moped at gunpoint near Olanta Highway and Oak Grove Road near Effingham. Simmons, who was arrested Tuesday, is also charged with ill treatment of an animal for allegedly shooting a dog on Airport Circle on the same day.
Simmons and 43-year-old Terry Lee Brown of 754 North Green Road, Scranton, also face two counts of attempted murder, one count of discharging firearms into a dwelling, and one count of discharging firearms into a vehicle. Those charges arise out of a series of incidents that occurred on or about Aug. 20 when Brown and Simmons fired numerous shots into an occupied vehicle on Rae Street in Lake City and further struck an occupied dwelling on Eugene Street near Lake City.
Brown appeared before a Florence County magistrate on Wednesday and was denied bond.
McFadden is described as a 19-year-old black male, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing approximately 150 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. He should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who knows of McFadden's whereabouts or encounters him is asked to call the Florence County Sheriff's Office at (843) 665-2121.
