Darlington Police officials have asked for the public's help to identify a suspect, or suspects, in a recent string of car break-ins.
To make themselves less of a target for burglaries, residents shouldn't leave valuables visible in their car, Sgt. Kim Nelson, Darlington Police Department, said.
Any valuable items left in cars should be secured in the vehicle's trunk, she said.
"The public is also asked to please report any information to law enforcement that will lead to the identity of the subject or subjects responsible for these crimes," Nelson wrote in a release issued Friday morning.
Anybody with information on the break-ins can call Crimestoppers at 1-800-CRIME-SC or make a tip online at http://www.sccrimestoppers.com. Either way, tipsters can remain anonymous.
