The non-profit organization Haven will hold a Volunteer Information Meeting at the Lawton Park Pavilion in Hartsville on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 6 p.m. to discuss the opportunity for 45 people to travel to Haiti and build homes.

The weeklong trip in May, called Build It Week, will focus on the construction of homes, a playground and a local community center in Gressier, about 12 miles from the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince. U.S. volunteers will work alongside Irish counterparts in conjunction with Oxfam, an international conglomerate of volunteer organizations aimed at finding solutions for poverty and injustice.

Volunteers will be asked to raise $5,000 for materials for the houses, local community development, meals, and transportation.

The Lawton Pavilion is located at 214 N Fifth St. For more information contact Sarah Fitzpatrick at (843) 455-0140 or visit www.havenpartnership.com.
