Hartsville announces new public information officer

HARTSVILLE – The City of Hartsville announced the hiring of a public information officer

Donald Quist, a Coker College graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a minor in English, has aided the city’s administrative staff with media relations. Quist has been a freelance writer for the Morning News in Florence, The (Hartsville) Messenger and dozens of national publications, bringing to the position over five years of experience writing for local government and the media. He is pursuing a MFA in Writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts.

City Manager Natalie Zeigler said, “I am very excited about bringing Donald on board. I think he will greatly improve communications in our community, helping us stay ahead of issues and be more responsive.”
