The State Farm Myrtle Beach Triathlon USA Triathlon National Championship Festival will bring 1,400 competitors to the area and lead to a myriad of road and lane closures for the weekend.
The event, which takes place over Saturday and Sunday, starts with swimming, bicycling and running Saturday.
That will include a 1.2 mile swim in the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, a 56-mile bike on US 17, Grissom Parkway and SC 31 and a 13.1 mile run on US 17, according to a release on the event.
Sunday's event will be smaller and won't involve US 17 and SC 31, according to the release.
