The cooler weather set the scene for the Myrtle Beach area chapter of the American Culinary Federation's 16th annual Souper Supper in market common Sunday afternoon.
There was line to get in right after the event started at noon.
For a small fee, you could sample more than 40 different soups from restaurants all over the Grand Strand.
There were all different types: like seafood chowders and classic Italian soups.
Everyone who sampled got to vote for their favorite.
"It's the fact that some of their (the sampler's) favorite restaurants are putting out something that the chefs take personal pride and creativity in,” said Lee Zulanchi, the ACF local vice president. “If you're a soup lover, you will taste some of the best soups available in Myrtle Beach."
Drunken Jack’s shrimp and crab chowder was voted at the over all winner. The other winners are as followed:
Judged Dishes:
1st place: Inlet Affairs Banquet and Catering with a Turducken soup
2nd place: The Dunes Club with a smoked chicken and corn soup
3rd place: Marina Inn with a succotash
