CONWAY - Christ Community Church in Conway will be the satellite host of The Global Leadership Summit 2011 on Thursday, August 11 and Friday, August 12.

The Summit is an annual training event for Christ-following leaders and emerging leaders, including pastors, business and community leaders, board members, elders, church staff, ministry leaders, volunteer leaders and students, who would like to improve their leadership skills.

Presented by the Willow Creek Association, a worldwide interdenominational network of more than 11,000 churches worldwide, The Global Leadership Summit is expected to draw some 131,000 church and business leaders to conference sites in more than 350 locations around the world, where talks from world-class leadership experts will be beamed live via satellite.

Some of the speakers include Bill Hybels, Howard Schultz, Erwin McManus and Dr. Henry Cloud. In anticipation of the Summit, Christ Community Church also has scheduled several Summit previews and book studies in June and July, which are free and open to the public.

When the Summit began in 1995, it was attended almost exclusively by church leaders. As its transferable principles spread outside the walls of the church, companies began sending teams to the Summit and many continue to use it as one of their core annual training events. The Willow Creek Association (WCA), host of the annual Leadership Summit, is a growing multi-denominational worldwide network of 11,000 churches from 90 denominations and 45 countries. The not-for-profit WCA equips churches and church leaders with strategic vision, training, and resources.
