Horry County residents flocked to the voting polls Saturday to give their say in who should win the GOP presidential nomination.
Voters said the voting process was simple. A voter registration card or South Carolina I.D. was required to cast a vote.
Voters lined up at poll locations all over Horry County. A steady amount of voters flowed through precincts in Myrtle Beach.
"Today has been incredible. I had not expected this turn out. Evidentially, people are very interested in this race, and they're speaking at the polls," said Larry Stafford, Clerk at a Myrtle Beach poll location.
Christi McCray-Eagles said every voting day is like a family reunion. This is her 20th year working the voting polls.
She says Saturday was an ordinary day, given the action that has surrounded this primary.
"It's been pretty easy. They get the ticket from us, then they go over to the booth, and they vote," said McCray-Eagles.
For weeks, political ads have taken over airwaves in South Carolina.
All the hype, though, is what inspired one North Myrtle Beach man to hit the polls Saturday.
"In the last two weeks we have been called constantly,” said Ray Bialecki.
“It influenced me to go vote,” he said.
“It's one of the first times we've voted in a primary like this a long time, so we have to make sure we vote for the right person,” said Bialecki.
That "right person" is different for everyone, which is why poll workers encourage people to exercise their right to choose our potential next president.
"That is one right that you have that no one can take away from you,” said McCray-Eagles.
“If you don't vote you can't talk about it, so if you want to have a voice, come out and vote,” she said.
