The Governor's School for Science and Mathematics (GSSM) is proud to introduce GoSciTech, the School's annual summer camp experience - pumped to the next level.
Known as the Summer Science Program (SSP) since 1989, GoSciTech was recently enhanced in response to campers' requests for a wider variety of hard-hitting science and technology experiences. Still offering traditional courses such as physics, chemistry and robotics, GoSciTech will include exciting new choices such as Pre-Med Anatomy, Electronics and Programming, and Marine Biology.
Serving rising eighth-, ninth- and 10th-graders from across the Palmetto State, GoSciTech provides opportunities to explore the endless possibilities of science and technology in an interactive, residential environment. All camps are led by college, university and GSSM professors, along with other professionals in their respective fields. Students can choose from a variety of experiences, gaining knowledge that can positively impact their future.
"Through outreach programs like GoSciTech, we are exposing middle school students to the heart and soul of GSSM," says Kim Bowman, CEO of the GSSM Foundation. "From anatomy to computer programming to the fundamentals of physics, we are committed to expanding our School's STEM opportunities to academically eager students throughout South Carolina."
Deadline for applications is May 1.
Dates for summer camp are: Week 1, June 10-June 16; Week 2, June 17-June 23; and Week 3, June 24-June 30.
