Several non-profit organizations came together Saturday to unveil the Waccamaw River Blue Trail.

They also celebrated the grand opening of the Otter Lake Boardwalk.

The event took place at the Cox Ferry Lake Recreation Area in Conway.

Folks listened to live music in the nice weather.

Some people enjoyed the water in kayaks.

American Rivers was one of the groups involved in Saturday’s event. They hope more people will enjoy the nature that Conway offers.

"We’ve got this really great river resource that a lot of people don't know about, so we want it to be something that the locals and the tourists can take advantage of," said Staci Williams with American Rivers.

The Waccamaw Trail Blazers also took part in the event. They guided groups of kids on mountain bike rides. For more information about their biking group, visit their website www.waccamawtrailblazers.com.
