MYRTLE BEACH - Profits from sales of a Palmetto State novel will help buy wigs for S.C. cancer patients.
The Oaks of McCord by Mary Eaddy of Myrtle Beach has been adopted as a fundraiser for the wig program of the Association of Cosmetology Salon Professionals (ACSP), according to Tami Floyd-Fogleman, chair of the association’s fundraising committee.
“This heartwarming story of a special relationship between a grandmother and granddaughter will lift the spirit of everyone who reads it,” Floyd-Fogleman said. “Lifting the human spirit is the focus of the beauty business. That’s why this book is a good fit for the wig program.”
The story, which includes elements of suspense, is about how women fight local political leaders to save historic oak trees in a small Southern town.
The Oaks of McCord, set for release from Bella Rosa Books in June, will be available in bookstores, online and in selected salons in S.C. and G.A.
Revenue from salon book sales will support the ACSP wig program. The following salons are participating:
