CONWAY – Conway Police arrested a man wanted for breaking into cars in the Wild Wing area.

According to a press release, Steven Robert McKay, 21, is charged with two (2) counts of breaking and entering auto in connection with two (2) vehicles which were broken into in the Wild Wing area.

Mckay appeared before Judge Jane Mackey Monday and received a $10,000 surety bond on each charge.

Police were notified Sunday by the victim that someone had entered his vehicle, stole over $1,500 in golf clubs, and broke the side view mirror off of the driver’s side of the vehicle.

That afternoon, officers responded to a second report of an automobile being broken into in the same community.

McKay was arrested by North Myrtle Beach Department of Public Safety shortly after 12:30 p.m. when he attempted to pawn the clubs at a pawn shop in the city limits of North Myrtle Beach.

When Mackay was arrested, he was found to be in possession of the items taken in the second auto break in.
