CONWAY- A Socastee woman is in jail charged with homicide by child abuse.
Booking reports show Tickeisha Moranda Walton-Grant, 38, of 8109 Shady Grove Rd. was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center at 6:42 p.m. Wednesday.
Sgt. Robert Kegler said she was arrested Wednesday in connection with the death of her stillborn child in January. Preliminary results from the baby's death investigation showed there was a possibility of cocaine in both the mother and child's system.
Results from the baby's death returned this week and confirmed there was cocaine in the baby, Kegler said. A search warrant was issued for Walton-Grant March 17, when she was arrested.
She remains jailed at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
