Horry County Police catch burglary suspect

Ryan Cope, 28, of Myrtle Beach is charged with 13 counts of burglary

CONWAY - The Horry County Police Department arrested a burglary suspect in the act on Friday and have linked him to numerous other burglaries.

According to a press release, Ryan Cope, 28, of Myrtle Beach is charged with 13 counts of burglary.

In recent months, there have been several residential burglaries in the Magnolia Pointe Community in the Myrtle Beach section the county.

On March 12, detectives were in the area when they watched a white male enter a condo unit.

Police said Cope then came out of the unit with a flat screen television and laptop computer, placed them in his truck, and began to leave.

Detectives then stopped the vehicle and identified the suspect.

Officers linked Cope to an additional twelve burglaries that have occurred in this area.

He is currently in custody at the J. Rueben Long Detention Center.
