A Darlington woman was arrested after investigators said she used illegal drugs while pregnant.
Cherelle Nicole McFadden, 21, of 121 Lee St., Darlington, is charged with unlawful neglect of a child by legal custodian, Darlington County Detention Center booking reports show.
Darlington police received a report Jan. 11 from the state Department of Social Services that the woman might have used illegal drugs while pregnant, Capt. Danny Watson said.
The woman was arrested Wednesday after tests from both her and her child came back positive for the drug, which Watson would not identify.
McFadden was released from jail Wednesday on a $5,000 surety bond, Watson said.
