MYRTLE BEACH - Hundreds of people came out to BB&T Coastal Field Saturday, not to see the Myrtle Beach Pelicans play, but to participate in the pelican's fan fest.
30 people auditioned to sing the national anthem at a Pelicans’ game this upcoming season.
Adults and kids got the chance to play some catch out on the field.
Fans played different baseball games, and others got a chance to meet Splash - the Pelicans’ mascot.
"It's just a great opportunity for people to come get a tour of the ballpark, try out for the national anthem, or just sit around, have fun, have a dollar hotdog,” said Julie Borshak, Pelicans’ Communications Director. “It's just been a great event today and weather could not be better."
The Pelicans’ season starts on April 8th.
