Medical field
The Auxiliary of Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center offers scholarships annually to area students who are interested in pursuing a career in any area of the medical profession. Students must have been accepted into a program at a college or university to be eligible for the scholarships. Any scholarship awarded is paid directly to the school in the student’s name.
All aspects of the medical world, including but not limited to, radiology, laboratory, nursing, physician, physical therapy, surgical tech and speech therapy, are just a few of the many fields of study available for students consideration and scholarship eligibility.
Scholarship applications may be obtained from the Community Relations Department at Carolina Pines by calling (843) 339-4195. All applications must be completed and returned by 4:30 p.m. April 15.
Agricultural field
The National FFA Organization is currently accepting applicants for the 2010 New Century Farmer Conference, a program designed to nurture the entrepreneurial spirit and professional growth of young people who are committed to a career in production agriculture.
The conference is free to those selected and will be held July 19-23 in Johnstown, Iowa. The deadline for applications is March 15, and only 50 students will be selected to participate. Would-be participants can learn more about the program and download an application at www.FFA.org/NCFarmer or by contacting their local agricultural education instructor.
