MYRTLE BEACH -- A tanker re-fueling gas tanks at a gas station on George Bishop Parkway and Grissom Parkway leaked fuel after it side-swipped a piece of metal, ripping open a portion of the tanker truck.

Leslie Yancey with the Horry County Fire Rescue says the Hazmat Team is on the scene and the Department of Health and Environmental Control is on the way to the scene.

Firefighters on the scene tell News13 the truck spilled between 70 and 80 gallons of fuel, and about 20 gallons spilled into a storm drain.

Drivers traveling near George Bishop Parkway and Robert Grissom Parkway should take extra precautions
