BOLIVIA, NC – Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office investigators have one subject in custody and are searching for another subject in connection with a burglary two months ago at the Rutledge Community Center, according to a department press release.
In that incident, items with a value of about $1,300 were reported taken from the center. That property was recovered Friday, according to the release.
Deputies arrested Jennifer Kathleen Lewis, 31, of 3120 Tar Landing Road, Shalotte, and charged her with one count of felony larceny, one county of felony possession of stolen goods, one county of conspiracy to obtain property by false pretenses and one count of misdemeanor larceny, according to the release.
Detectives continue to search for a second suspect, a Merton Robert Gainey III, according to the release.
Gainey, 40, is driving a black 1997 Ford Taurus and may be in the Sunset Harbor area, according to the release. He is wanted on one count of felony larceny, one count of obtaining property by false pretenses and one count of misdemeanor larceny, according to the release.
