Wright, Weather crowned king and queen of education at Hemingway church

HEMINGWAY—Jerusalem AME Church of Hemingway recognized their king and queen during the annual scholarship drive recently.

Deshawn Wright, a junior at Dutch Fork High School was crowned king during the Mr. and Miss Jerusalem Program. He is the son of Mark Wright and Lasonya Rivers. Tandra Weaver, a freshman at Hemingway High School, was crowned queen. She is the daughter of Terrance Session and Tedra Weaver.

The two were crowned king and queen based on the highest amount of money raised. The money will be used to purchase materials for college or a technical school of the high school senior’s choice.
