DILLON – One person died and several others were transported to a Dillon hospital after a four-car crash on SC 38 at the Interstate 95 interchange Saturday morning.
The crash started at 7:25 a.m. when Benieo Torres, who was driving a 2004 Chevrolet SUV, exited I-95, disregarded a stop sign and collided first with a 2008 Ford van going west on SC 38, then collided with a 1998 Chevrolet Malibu going east on SC 38 and was then struck by a 2007 Honda SUV, South Carolina Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Bob Beres said.
The driver of the Malibu, 34 year old Tashema Ford, Mullins, was killed, according to Dillon County Coroner Randy Grimsley.
Ford was a mother of three children, Grimsley said.
The drivers of the other three and a passenger in the Honda were taken to a Dillon hospital, Beres said.
