Florence police are investigating a man who they say used a MySpace account to ask his 11-year-old neighbor to send him explicit photographs of her.
The exchanges were reported to police Sunday after the girl’s parents logged on to the computer and saw messages from the suspect who happened to be a 38-year-old man, Florence Police Maj. Carlos Raines said.
The victim’s parents recognized the suspect because he lived in their neighborhood and called police, Raines said.
Taurtagius Shilow, 38, of 604 Irvan Court is charged with criminal solicitation of a minor, Florence County Detention Center booking reports show.
Shilow was released Thursday from the jail in Effingham. Bond information wasn’t available.
