NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – North Myrtle Beach Public Safety officials made two arrests yesterday after a joint investigation with Horry County and Brunswick County police departments. The investigation centered around a string of business larcenies and credit card fraud incidents dating back to July 2009.

North Myrtle Beach officers arrested Wilbert Percell Powell, 47, and Jenny Lynn Chamberlain, 54, both from Myrtle Beach. Both Powell and Chamberlain have been charged in North Myrtle Beach with five counts of larceny from five separate incidents. Officials in Brunswick County also served them with warrants for credit card fraud.

The couple allegedly targeted small businesses in the area, stealing business owners’ pocketbooks containing credit cards, checkbooks, gift cards and other identification cards.
