Conway police arrested David Weiser, 18, and James Shetzline, 46, both of Aynor, and charged them in connection with a “road rage” incident that occurred Jan. 4 in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Weiser and Shetzline turned themselves in to police Thursday morning without incident.
On Monday, Jan. 4, at 5:45 p.m., Conway police officers responded to the Wal-Mart parking lot in reference to a fight in progress.
Officers spoke with victims who reported while they were in front of the store waiting for pedestrians to cross, a red pickup truck pulled behind them and began blowing the horn. As soon as it was clear for them to cross, they proceeded into the parking lot, where driver of the red pickup continued behind them blowing the horn. The victims parked their vehicle and were preparing to exit when they were immediately assaulted with a board by two males.
One victim was transported by ambulance to Conway Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. The other victim was treated by EMS on scene.
Police charged Weiser charged with Simple Assault and Battery and Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature. Shetzline was charged with Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature in connection with this incident. Both individuals appeared before Judge Jane Mackey Thursday morning for a bond hearing, and each of them received a $2,000 surety bond.
