"Can you get this done, can you get the surface clean," says Rodney Strickland, Operations Manager for Jani King.
That's what Jani King says used to be the primary goal when it comes to cleanliness. The environment really wasn't a factor, but times have changed.
"What we want to do is to use less chemicals and better techniques that way it's not getting into the atmosphere," says Strickland.
"Our bigger customers, our Windhams, our Bluegreens, bigger customers it's mandated. They're very environmentally conscious and they've requested that we in fact be green as well," says David Dimarino Jani King Authorized Franchisee.
Minimizing the use of water and harsh chemicals is one of the biggest ways Jani King strives to be environmentally friendly. Instead of cleaning the floor with a mop and bucket, they use a micro fiber tool to get the job done.
"It’s just a very quick easy way to do instead of dumping all the water into a drain," says Dimarino.
Micro fiber can also be used on surfaces like windows without using a chemical cleaner like Windex. Jani King uses different color micro fiber clothes for different surfaces to prevent cross contamination.
"It doesn't streak, it keeps everything compact in here, its washable very easy to use," he says.
Jani King uses a universal hydrogen-peroxide cleaner that can clean areas ranging from the bathroom to the kitchen. A little bit goes a long way, making it very cost effective. This cleaner is also safe.
"If your child were to get into the kitchen cabinet and maybe take a sip, it's not going to harm them," says Dimarino.
Or the air we breathe, making green cleaning one more step to a healthier environment.
