SC Supreme Court to hear Myrtle Beach helmet ordinance lawsuit

»  Comments | Post a Comment

The South Carolina Supreme Court has set a date to hear a local group's challenge to the City of Myrtle Beach's helmet law that many think is the main reason biker attendance was so low in 2009.

According to the court's website, the hearing is scheduled for Feb. 3 at 10 a.m. in Columbia.

The group, Business Owenrs Organized to Save Tourism (BOOST) said it's encouraged by the high court's decision to hear the case and not let it go through the courts first.

The City of Myrtle Beach told News 13 that it's fine with the case going on the "fast track" because it figures it would have ended up in the high court anyway.
