Four arrested, 50 pounds of marijuana seized in Horry County bust

Agents with the 15th Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit seized about 50 pounds of marijuana, along with 65 grams of cocaine, 7 doses of morphine, and 2 guns Friday.

MYRTLE BEACH -- Agents with the 15th Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit seized about 50 pounds of marijuana, along with 65 grams of cocaine, 7 doses of morphine, and 2 guns Friday. This was part of an undercover operation in the Myrtle Beach area. Agents arrested four people, each of them charged with trafficking cocaine and marijuana.

Those arrested are: Thomas Chavez-Garduno, Pedro Cortez, Yonkany Guzman-Hernandez, and Mercado Michael Garcia.

The four suspects were taken to J. Reuben Long Detention Center. Agents say more arrests are pending in this case.

The 15th Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit is a multi-jurisdictional unit, funded by a grant, made up of multiple agencies from Horry County, Georgetown County, SLED and Probation Parole and Pardon Services (PPP).
