FLORENCE – A Cheraw Drive residence was heavily damaged when it burned Wednesday morning.
The fire was reported shortly about 9 a.m. When Florence firefighters arrived at the 1110 Cheraw Drive residence there were flames and smoke showing.
The resident had worked a late shift and had just gone to bed shortly before the fire broke out, Florence Fire Chief Randy Osterman said.
Firefighters quickly knocked the fire down and limited fire damage to one room and some of the attic, Osterman said.
Nobody was injured in the fire, the fire chief said.
The lower end of Cheraw Drive, across from Moore Intermediate School, was closed for part of the morning.
